APPLICATION REVIEW
After completing the first step, our Admissions Manager will review your child’s application. Once the review is completed and your child’s application has been accepted, we will notify you by the communication preferences that you selected on how to proceed with the next step.
COMPLETE REGISTRATION
Once your child’s application has been accepted, you will be asked to complete registration forms to finalize your child’s enrollment at our Academy. These forms will help identify certain information to better serve your child.
STUDENT ORIENTATION
We will contact you to schedule a date and time for you and your family to visit our academy for student orientation.

Bridge Academy West is a tuition-free public school academy located in Detroit, MI. Bridge Academy West is a middle school and offers grades 6-8, the Academy also offers a hybrid high school program offering grades 9-12. The Academies educators are fully certified to teach by the Michigan Department of Education. Bridge Academy is authorized through Ferris State University and governed by a public school academy board of directors.
Students have until the age of 21 to have all course work complete in order to graduate with their high school diploma.
For a majority of students, this form of course delivery works well. Students must have high motivation, computer familiarity, and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Our facility offers students the ability to interact with their peers, seek help, or just change environment. Although there is daily contact with others in the class, there may not be any face-to-face meetings. For students with different learning styles, taking online courses may not be an appropriate choice.
No. All course material should be provided to students once he/she logs into his/her courses, which included all support material and programs. The Academy has made arrangements with software and major publishers to ensure all our students have legal access to the resources necessary to complete their course work.

Our Academies are a tuition institution free for Michigan residences!
Students do not have to come to our location at this time but, yes, our online program requires some attendance in our web classrooms. Teachers will post a question in collaboration corner weekly and students will be required to respond to the post, which will count as their attendance for the week.
Our institution provides each student doing virtual instruction with a laptop and internet service free of charge for the duration of the program. Equipment is the property of the Academy and must be returned upon completion of the program.
The Academy seeks to provide every child, regardless of national origin or native language, quality, and meaningful educational instruction. Each students is evaluated on his/her English language proficiency. Consequently, students who are English Language Learners (ELLs) are provided instructional services through ELL programs which are designed to meet each students unique needs.
Courses follow the semester system like in a regular school. Semester 1 runs from September to the end of January and semester 2 runs from February to the end of June. It is recommended that you make application for fall courses no later than mid-August and winter courses no later than early January.
Attendance is checked daily. Your login dates, times, and the areas of the course that you visit are logged. Your teacher will clarify what is required of you in terms of course participation. Students who fail to complete attendance checks will be called and reminded. A meeting at the center will be required if the student continues to have a number of failed attendance checks.
Student transcripts are evaluated on a course by course basis. Student credits can be transferred to our institution as long as they meet our graduation requirements. Foreign transcripts must be translated and evaluated before submission to the Academy.
