Am I Ready for Virtual Learning

GEE Preparatory is an online K-12 program. Tutoring, instruction, and most tests are conducted online, except for state-mandated tests. Students are required to attend virtual classes the entire day.

In a virtual learning setting, students need an extra level of independence and self-discipline. They must complete their work with less supervision, and they should be able to talk to the teacher when they need assistance or clarification. This style of learning is not suitable for all students. Parents should carefully consider their unique qualities when deciding if virtual school is suitable for their child/ren. As a parent, it is also important to realize that enrolling their children in a virtual school may require them to ensure students complete their work on time, stay focused on their classwork, and interact with their teachers. This is especially true for our elementary students, where a learning coach is required. As the learning coach, you will work very closely with your student and your student’s online teacher. The following self-evaluation tools can help you, and your child determine whether they are ready for a completely virtual school.
